One Flag, Two Milestones: Celebrating America 250 and Liguori 10

This year’s Flag Day holds special significance as the United States celebrates 250 years of history, perseverance, and unity. Flag Day honors the adoption of the American flag, a symbol of freedom, opportunity, and the shared values that have united generations of Americans. For 250 years, the flag has represented the nation’s resilience through times of challenge and triumph, serving as a reminder of the ideals of liberty, democracy, and service that continue to shape the country today.

Located in Philadelphia, the birthplace of the nation, Liguori Academy recognizes the vision, determination, and spirit of brotherly love that helped shape the country. Through Civics classes, students learn about American history, government, and the individuals whose leadership and sacrifices contributed to the development of the United States. Every morning, students and staff honor the American flag by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and reflecting on the generations whose contributions have made today’s opportunities possible.

To commemorate both America’s 250th anniversary and Liguori Academy’s 10th anniversary, students were invited to participate in a special logo design contest. Students were challenged to create a logo that represented both the school community and the nation’s historic milestones.
